Acceptable Use

What our network may and may not be used for. It is short on purpose: we would rather you read all of it than agree to something you have not.

Streaming

Streaming is allowed

This is a platform built for high-bandwidth delivery, and streaming is a normal use of it. Run your video through us for content you own, licence or otherwise hold the rights to distribute in the places it reaches.

What that does not cover

The permission is about the traffic, not the content. Rights are yours to hold and yours to prove, and the sections below apply to a stream exactly as they apply to anything else you put behind us.

  • Retransmitting a broadcaster's channel, a sports feed, a film or a series you have no right to distribute.
  • Reselling access to someone else's service, or circumventing a paywall, geo-restriction or DRM.
  • Anything unlawful where our infrastructure sits or where your viewers are — local law applies in both places, and it is not always the same law.
Prohibited

Not permitted, ever

  • Child sexual abuse material. Reported to the authorities and terminated immediately, with no notice period and no appeal.
  • Copyright and trademark infringement. Distributing work you do not hold the rights to, including live channels, film, series and events.
  • Attacking other networks — denial of service, port scanning, intrusion attempts, credential stuffing.
  • Phishing and malware, including impersonating a bank, a payment provider or a government service.
  • Spam, or hosting the infrastructure that supports it.
  • Open resolvers, amplification and reflection set up to be pointed at a third party.
  • Anything unlawful in the jurisdictions our infrastructure operates in.
Scope

Where we take a narrow view

We are a delivery network, not an arbiter of what is worth publishing. That cuts both ways, and it is worth being explicit about the side that favours you.

Lawful content stays up

We do not remove lawful material because somebody objects to it, and we do not take sides in a commercial dispute between you and someone else.

Copyright notices are forwarded

We deliver traffic; we do not host it. A notice goes to the customer responsible, who is the only one who can actually remove anything.

Your identity is not handed out

We do not disclose who a customer is on request. That needs a lawful order from a jurisdiction that can compel us.

Capacity

Resource use

Aggregated traffic is sold as a rate and enforced as one. Beyond that, traffic that degrades the service for other customers — whether it is malicious or simply far larger than what was bought — may be rate limited or moved to DNS-only.

We contact you first, except during an active outage, where stopping the harm comes before the conversation about it.

Enforcement

How we enforce it

Normally in this order, and an emergency skips straight to whatever stops the harm:

  1. We contact you.
  2. Rate limit, or move the hostname to DNS-only.
  3. Suspend the domain or the server.
  4. Terminate the account.

Every action is written to your audit trail in the panel, so what we did and when is a matter of record rather than recollection.
